Before we got our digital camera, Patrick had an elph camera that took special advantage film. We haven’t used the camera in about 5 years. Or so I thought. I realized the other day that the roll of film that was in the camera needed to be developed so I took it in. I had no idea what was on it.We got the pictures the other day and it turns out we’d used the camera in the hospital when Brenden was born because our digital one was getting repaired. I thought it was funny that we got these pictures back the day that two sets of friends told us they were having babies.
Thought it might be fun to share a couple of shots from the hospital and one from Brenden’s first day home. Compare that stranger to Brenden in the pictures in the previous post.
When you look at Brenden’s newborn pictures, how much of who he is now do you see? We were looking at Will’s hospital pictures the other day, and while I know he’s not quite 12 weeks old, I could see many of the same facial expressions he makes now as he did when he was 20 minutes old. I have taken a couple of pictures that I think are glimpses of what he’s going to look like as a little boy, so it will be interesting to see if he really looks like that at age 2. Isn’t it interesting how we change so much as we grow, but our essence is still there. I’ve seen baby pictures of my 83 year old Grandad that look just like him!
I think that is part of why finding these pictures of Brenden fascinated me so much. I look at him every day and I don’t think he’s changed that much looks wise other than the usual getting taller and stuff. But when I look back at these pictures he doesn’t even look like my memory of him. I don’t know if I’m making sense, but I’ll sum up by saying that I know what you mean!
BTW, I think it’s funny (ironic, not ha-ha) that you had to use your film camera in the hospital because your digital one was being repaired. We had to buy a new digital camera less than a week before Will’s birth because our old one went kaput. What timing, huh? I’m sure you were thinking the same thing!
